Skaro Awards Judging Policy
Judges reserve the right to:
- disqualify an entry if it breaks any of the rules
- ban a vidder if they enter a video that was either stolen or uses stolen clips
- change the rules at any time between rounds
- drop a category if there are not enough entries
Judges promise to not:
- change the rules while a round is still open.
- allow personal feelings regarding songs/music, characters, ships, or vidders to interfere with their ability to fairly judge the entries
Judging Method
- Each judge will watch all the entries and pick their top choices for each category.
- Each judge wil watch all of the videos and email the others a list of their top choices
- All judges will then get together at a convenient time via IM and discuss/debate any differences until we come to a final decision.
- Number of awards are determined by the number of entries in the categories
Winner: minimum 2 differenct vidders (not videos)
Runner-up: 5 entries or over
2nd Runner-up: 8 entries or over
* Entries are judged on editing and how well they fit the category. This includes how well the video is presented and the appropriateness of the clips, song, and editing style for the story.
* A video can only win in ONE of its chosen categories. However, a video can win in one category and receive runner-up in another or win multiple runners-up. This rule does not apply to the technical categories that all entries are elligible for or (NEW) categories that do not have runners-up (categories with less than 5 entries.). If a video is good enough to win multiple categories, the judges will choose the category that it most fits/deserves and award it that one.
* Runners-up in technical categories will be awarded as the judges see fit. There will be no runners-up in Judge's Choice.
