Who's judging this round?
You are! Videos will be nominated by the viewers, the final nominees will be listed, and then the viewers will vote for their favorites.
Do I have to nominate a video for every category now?
No. You can nominate for a few of the categories, and then come back in a few days and nominate in the rest. My amazing, coding friend, has written the nomination forms so that it will save your progress.
I'm missing some of the vidder's/video's information. Can I still nominate?
No. Download/streaming links, the vidder's account name and/or email address can all be easily found. If you have a fan video saved to your computer, and you have absolutely no idea who made it or where the original links are, you can always post a thread at Foolish Passion Vidding Forums or the dwfanvids community at LiveJournal to see if anyone else knows. If you really can't track down all the information needed, just nominate a different video.
The vidder I'm nominating will not have access to the internet during the nominations period. Can I still nominate them?
Unfortunately, no. We need all vidders to accept or deny their nominations. If we don't hear back from them within a week after the nominations period closes, we'll have to drop their nominations. If you know a vidder will not be able to reply to their nominations, please nominate someone else so you don't waste a nomination.
How does this nomination process work?
Viewers (which includes everyone, vidders and fans alike) can nominate their favorite (eligible) videos via the special BotB submission form. Please read the rules carefully to be sure the video is eligible! After the nomination has been submitted, I will message the vidder about the nomination and check that the video fits the rules and the category. If the video is eligible and the vidder accepts the nomination, I will email the viewer to let them know their nomination has been accepted, and the video will be added to the final list of nominees. If the video is dropped at this stage, I will email the viewer explaining why their nomination was not added to the final list. The nomination period will last exactly one month. A week after it closes, we will post the final nominees and voting will open up.
How does the voting process work?
The final list of nominees with the video links and a way to contact the vidder will be posted for a month. Viewers will then be able to select their favorite video from each category. Viewers can only vote once per category. No exceptions and no corrections. In the end, if there is a tie, we will reopen the voting for the tied categories for another two weeks. A week after the final voting closes, the results will be posted along with award icons for the winners.
How will you know if someone nominates/votes more than once?
IP addresses will be logged, and for the nominations, we'll also be keeping track of the viewers' names and email addresses. All information will be deleted from our records at the end of the contest (when results are posted). The only exception would be if the viewer was a previous participant in Skaro Awards and we have her email address saved to our contact list.
How many places will be awarded?
It will depend on the number of nominated videos in the category. If there are only 3 videos, we will only award 1st. If there are 4 - 6 videos in the category, we'll award 1st and 2nd, and if there are 7 or more videos, we'll award down to 3rd.
Will vote totals be posted with the awards?
No. We may announce the total number of votes we had or the number of different people we had voting, but we will not announce the number of votes an individual video had. If the vidder is curious and would like to know their vote totals, they can email us and we'll send them the information.
I missed the nomination period. Can I still vote?
Absolutely! You do not have to nominate any videos in order to participate in the voting stage.
I have never participated in Skaro Awards before. Can I still participate in the Best of the Best round?
Of course you can! We can't really call it the 'Best of the Best' if all videos aren't accepted. :) You can nominate, be nominated, and vote in the BotB even if you've never heard of Skaro Awards before now.
